Since 1999, I’ve been a fan of UK-based Neal’s Yard Remedies certified organic skincare and aromatherapy products.
I joined their direct selling program in the U.S. in 2009, fell in love with pretty much their entire line of effective products featuring beautiful aromatherapy blends, and enjoyed sharing them with customers and contacts during the next fifteen years. I used very few personal care products from other brands during that time.
During the last couple of years, I have developed sensitivities, so I can’t use as many NYR products as I used to, but I definitely still have my favorites, especially for at home spa days.
Below is a list of five of my favorites, including my affiliate links:
1. Vegan Wild Rose Beauty Balm — This is my go to product after a day in the sun, or in the wind. I like to use it as an occasional overnight moisturizing mask. The main ingredient is wild rosehip seed oil, along with pumpkin seed oil, candelilla and sumac berry wax, plus a gorgeous herbaceous blend of essential oils of geranium, frankincense, rosemary, palmarosa and patchouli. This nourishing multipurpose balm is suitable for dryer skin types, but it’s also versatile: the essential oils effectively balance combination skin, and help to reduce inflammation and breakouts.

2. Reviving White Tea Facial Mask — The main ingredient in this face mask is kaolin clay, which is very effective at removing oil on the skin. White tea has powerful antioxidant properties for the skin, and the mask has an earthy, clean scent thanks to a blend of frankincense, rockrose, and patchouli essential oils. I usually apply it about ten minutes before the shower, and also use NYR’s Honey & Orange facial scrub (see below) to help rinse it off. If your skin is normal or combination or oily, you can use it a couple of times a week. If your skin is on the dry side, you can use it once a week or so.

3. Honey & Orange facial scrub — This scrub contains rice powder as an exfoliating agent, which means it’s intense, and it’s important to be very gentle when using it, to avoid creating micro tears in the skin. It contains purifying kaolin clay, and it’s also really moisturizing, thanks to its titular honey.

4. Frankincense Refining Cleanser — This is my favorite way to remove makeup before cleansing. It has a creamy formula, and a subtle, clean scent, thanks to frankincense, which also tones the skin. If you love self care in the form of a lovely cleanser that is pleasant to use, this is a great option. My face feels so clean and incredibly soft after rinsing it off, thanks to organic cocoa butter and baobab seed oil. This cleanser is vegan approved, too.

5. Bee Lovely Body Butter — This beautiful body moisturizer has a light texture that sinks right in and smells exactly like its main ingredients: fair trade organic honey and orange essential oil from sun ripened Italian and Mexican oranges. It also contains nourishing cocoa seed and shea butters. NYR donates 3% of all Bee Lovely product sales to global bee friendly charities.

As I transitioned from direct sales to affiliate marketing for NYR about a year and a half ago, I discovered Norwex — short for ‘The Norwegian Experience’ — a company that makes premium microfiber and sustainable cleaning products. As a direct seller for Norwex, I’ve had some time to experiment with and try some of their personal care products too. Norwex products are mostly unscented, or only lightly scented and they are an effective solution for sensitive skin. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about my Norwex favorites.
